Since SteelOrbis’ previous report published on Tuesday, August 3, prices in Turkey’s ship scrap market have moved down on the upper end. Today, August 9, the general price range in Turkey’s ship scrap market is at $450-462/mt since the mills representing the previous upper end have decided to reduce their purchase prices. SteelOrbis had reported on August 3 that the $15-20/mt price gap in Izmir was making little difference in terms of scrap flow to producers, and so the decrease in quotations is not expected to have an impact on scrap flow.
