Turkey’s ship scrap market moves down by $10/mt

Turkey’s ship scrap market has moved down by $10/mt with the adjustments made by two Izmir-based mills. The general range of ship scrap procurement prices is now at $370-385/mt, for delivery to mill by truck, declining on the lower end week on week. The decrease observed in the ship scrap segment signals that Turkish mills expect a further fall in deep sea and short sea scrap prices.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
