Turkey’s ship scrap market moves down another $15-21/mt

Izmir-based Turkish mills have reduced their ship scrap procurement prices further by $15-21/mt as compared to the levels recorded on May 5. The general price range in the local market is now at $380-385/mt for delivery to mill by truck, down from $395-401/mt. Turkey’s ship scrap market is moving down in line with the deep sea and short sea segments, and this latest decline had been expected by market players.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
