Turkey’s local scrap prices move up in line with import prices

Thursday, 30 April 2026 16:28:10 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

As prices in Turkey’s import scrap market have been moving up slowly, domestic scrap prices have followed suit. Most Turkish mills have increased their local scrap procurement prices this week, trying to secure scrap flow to their yards. The rise as compared to SteelOrbis’ previous report published on April 3 is by a margin of TRY 500-1,600/mt or $11-36/mt. The general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has increased to TRY 14,600-18,600/mt. Due to the fluctuations observed in the exchange rate, the dollar-based prices have moved from $327-395/mt to $327-417/mt.
