Since SteelOrbis’ previous report published on Monday, July 26, three Turkish mills have reduced their domestic scrap purchase prices by TRY 60-300/mt or $3-33/mt, depending on grades. The slight appreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar during the same period caused $3-4/mt increase on other mills’ dollar based prices.

Today, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap is still in the range of TRY 3,820-4,530/mt, while the dollar-based quotations moved from $446-529/mt to $449-532/mt.
