Some Turkish mills raise their domestic scrap purchase prices

Thursday, 07 November 2019 14:29:15 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Some Turkish mills have revised their domestic scrap purchase prices upwards amid the ongoing strengthening of import deal prices. Accordingly, their purchase prices have risen by TRY 20-70/mt depending on the company, resulting in $4-13/mt increases on US dollar basis. According to market sources, Turkish mills have been eager to buy domestic scrap this week in order to replenish their stocks. However, many steel producers have preferred to keep their domestic purchase prices stable for now, despite the increases in transaction prices for imported scrap.
