While most Turkish mills have continued to keep their domestic scrap purchase prices stable today, November 17, some have increased their prices by TRY 5-300/mt. The price increase of TRY 5/mt has been accompanied by stability or a decrease of $1/mt in dollar-based quotations, while the larger increases in lira prices have resulted in rises of $5-38/mt in the dollar equivalents. By leaving their domestic scrap purchase prices stable in the local currency, other mills’ dollar-based prices have declined by $1/mt. All changes are shared as compared to SteelOrbis’ report published on November 15.
Accordingly, the benchmark DKP grade scrap quotations in Turkey are still in the range of TRY 2,240-2,570/mt or have decreased by $1/mt to $288-331/mt.
