Having already moved down by $25-35/mt since the beginning of the week, the Turkish ship scrap market has indicated another slight decline in prices today, January 4, depending on the buyer. Some Izmir-based Turkish mills have decreased their ship scrap purchase quotations by $5/mt as compared to the levels recorded yesterday, while the general range of ship scrap purchase quotations in Turkey has remained at $370-385/mt. Market sources state that ship scrap flow is not strong as it was last week but that it is still sufficient, adding that the downtrend of the ship scrap market has almost come to a halt.
