Significant price increase in Turkish ship scrap market

Amid the ongoing uptrend of deep sea scrap quotations in Turkey, producers in the country’s Izmir region have increased their ship scrap purchase prices significantly - especially on the lower end - in order to maintain scrap flow. Today, ship scrap purchase quotations have been raised by $5-30/mt to $348-350/mt for delivery to mill by truck. As Cebitas has decided to join the upward revisions observed over the past couple of days, the lower end of the general price range has increased sharply by $30/mt from the previous level of $320/mt recorded on Monday, November 30.

In Turkey's Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
