Significant fall in Turkish ship scrap market

Today, February 2, Izmir-based Turkish mills have reduced their ship scrap purchase quotations significantly by $5-15/mt as compared to the levels recorded yesterday. The general range of ship scrap purchase quotations in Turkey have moved down from $398-405/mt to $385-400/mt. The flow in the Turkish ship scrap market is still sufficient, according to market players. Ship scrap prices in Turkey indicated a total of $15-25/mt decrease since the beginning of the week.

In Turkey's Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
