SteelOrbis observes that short sea suppliers have decreased their offer prices to Turkey in recent days after the downtrend experienced in the deep sea segment, particularly from the US, but they are also maintaining a cautious stance in terms of sales.

SteelOrbis’ estimations for short sea HMS I/II 80:20 scrap from Romania and the Adriatic region have decreased from the $398-403/mt CFR to around $390-395/mt CFR Turkey. Buyers are giving lower firm bids due to their expectations of a further cut in prices. However, sellers are unwilling to accept the bids for now.

Market players state that they expect the downtrend on the short sea side to continue next week, as the deep sea segment is also anticipated to maintain its downward movement.
