According to market sources, Lebanese offers for HMS I/II 80:20 scrap to Turkey are currently at $255/mt CFR, while firm bids from buyers in Turkey's Iskenderun region are at $250/mt CFR. No new transaction has been heard at these price levels.
On the other hand, offers for HMS I/II 80:20 scrap from Cyprus to Turkey are currently in the range of $245-250/mt CFR. Market sources state that demand in the market has been quiet since the June 7 general election. Meanwhile, deep sea scrap dealers are maintaining a firm stance on their prices and so Turkish producers may focus on short sea scrap purchases of small tonnages in the coming period.
Moreover, offers for mixed HMS I/II 75:25 and sheered scrap from Israel to Turkey are at $265/mt CFR, while Israeli HMS I/II 75:25 scrap offers to Turkey are in the range of $250-255/mt CFR.
