Some Turkish steel producers based in the Izmir region have increased their domestic ship scrap purchase prices by $2-7/mt as of today, February 13. On Tuesday, February 11, Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) decreased its ship scrap purchase price by $3/mt, while Habas reduced its price by $5/mt, due to the negative sentiment in import scrap segment. Izmir Demir Celik has not changed its ship scrap prices since February 11. However, Habas has increased its ship scrap price by $2/mt as of today. Also, Ozkan Demir Celik has kept its ship scrap purchase prices unchanged since Monday, February 10. As a result, ship scrap purchase prices in the region are currently set at $260-262/mt CPT, with Cebitas still out of the market.
