One Izmir-based Turkish mill has increased its ship scrap procurement prices by $29/mt over the past week, while the other local mills have kept their prices stable. The general range is now at $335-376/mt, from $335-375/mt last week, both for delivery to mill by truck. However, IDÇ which represents the bottom of the range is not interested in purchasing ship scrap at present. The price level also shows that they are currently out of the market. Hence, it would be more correct to say that ship scrap prices in Izmir are currently in the range of $373-376/mt.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:

Producer

Price ($/mt)

Özkan Demir Çelik

373

Habaş

376

+29

Ege Çelik

İDÇ

All the above prices are for delivery to mill by truck.
