Ship scrap prices in Turkey soften on the lower end

Ship scrap purchase prices in Turkey’s Izmir region have softened by $5/mt on the lower end with one mill reducing its quotations today, October 9. While other steelmakers have kept their ship scrap purchase prices stable in this period, the general range is now at $275-280/mt. The decreasing trend observed in Turkey’s import scrap market is being reflected on the ship scrap side, according to market sources.
