Today, March 20, some mills in Turkey’s İzmir region have reduced their ship scrap purchase quotations further, while one mill has kept its prices stable and Turkish mill İzmir Demir Celik (IDC) has decided to return to the market. IDC’s prices were $255/mt on Tuesday, March 17, but the mill announced the closing of its ship scrap purchases on Wednesday.

As a result of the changes today, ship scrap prices in the Izmir region have fallen from the range of $228-235/mt recorded yesterday, March 19, to $220-235/mt, for delivery to mill by truck. Cebitas is still out of the market.
