Ship scrap price falls further in Turkey, one mill halts purchases

Today, March 23, ship scrap purchase prices in Turkey’s Izmir region have decreased further by another $5-12/mt as compared to Friday, March 20, to $214-235/mt, for delivery to mill by truck. It is notable that Turkish steel mill Habas has decided to keep its prices stable in this period, while Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) has decided to suspend its ship scrap purchases. Also, Cebitas is still out of the market.
