Domestic ship scrap purchase prices in Turkey have increased again, following the uptrend of the import segment as well as the depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar. Izmir-based steel mills have raised their ship scrap purchase prices by $2-5/mt. In addition, according to the sources, the producers are keeping the prices high in order to the cover their scrap requirements.
