Several Turkish mills raise domestic scrap purchase prices further

Today, May 5, several Turkish mills have raised their domestic scrap prices by TRY 80-350/mt or $8-40/mt, depending on the grade. Other mills have kept their prices stable on local currency, with their dollar-based prices down $2/mt amid the ongoing slow depreciation of the Turkish lira against major currencies.

The general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has moved up from TRY 3,400-3,775/mt to TRY 3,400-4,030/mt, while the dollar-based quotations have increased from the range of $409-454/mt to $407-483/mt.
