Scrap offers for Turkey

Thursday, 24 January 2008 12:51:20 (GMT+3)   |
It is heard that this week's scrap offers for Turkish mills are currently showing great variation. While a softening is observed particularly in ex-continental Europe offers due to the trends in the $/TRY exchange rate and the freight rate, ex-US offers remain stable. Accordingly, offers for ex-US HMS I/II 80:20 scrap are around $460/mt CFR, whereas offers for ex-continental Europe HMS I/II 70:30 scrap are around $435/mt CFR.
