Scrap markets skip the holiday, prices see continual rise
Despite the Eid-Ul-Adha festivities in Turkey which continued after New Year's Day, scrap suppliers and producers were observed to have worked through the holiday period. Many bookings, most of which were for deep sea scrap, were concluded during the holiday. When we analyze the price levels in these bookings, we notice a continual rise in prices. The price levels of the bookings concluded after these increases, which were also influenced by the rise in freight rates, are as follows:
