Market sources confirm that a Turkish steelmaker has recently concluded an ex-western Europe deal for 36,500 mt of HMS I/II 80:20 scrap and 7,500 mt of bonus grade scrap at the average level of $311/mt CFR. This price level is considered to be very low and the transaction is believed to include a special arrangement.

Furthermore, the same Turkish steelmaker has concluded an ex-St. Petersburg deal for 15,000 mt of HMS I/II 80:20 scrap at $307/mt CFR and for 1,500 mt of bonus grade scrap at $317/mt CFR, for prompt shipment.
