Since SteelOrbis’ report published on September 16, most Turkish mills have kept their domestic scrap procurement prices stable, leading to a $3/mt decrease on dollar-basis. A number of mills have reduced their prices by TRY 150-20/mt or $11-14/mt. The only increase by a mill was by TRY 200/mt or $8/mt over the past week. As the downward trend of the deep sea and short sea scrap segments has eased this week, evolving into a more stable trend, it is observed that only a few Turkish mills have made adjustments to their local scrap quotations, depending on their needs.
As a result, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has declined from the upper end of TRY 6,000-7,030/mt ($329-385/mt) to TRY 6,000-6,930/mt ($326-376/mt).
