As negative the sentiment has continued in the local Turkish scrap market, some Turkish mills have decreased their local scrap purchase prices by TRY 50-400/mt ($4-50/mt) as compared to the levels recorded on Friday, March 12. Meanwhile, some Turkish mills have kept their prices stable in the local currency, with their dollar-based quotations rising by $2-3/mt today amid the appreciation of the lira against the US dollar.
Accordingly, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has settled at TRY 2,900-3,645/mt, while the dollar-based quotations have moved from the range of $382-490/mt to $384-483/mt.
