More Turkish mills raise their domestic scrap purchase prices

Wednesday, 04 December 2019 17:11:38 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

After key steel producers in Turkey revised their scrap purchase prices upwards as of yesterday, some of the other producers have followed suit today, December 4, and increased their prices by TRY 20-60/mt or $3-28/mt, depending on the buyer and the raw material grade. Sources report that the mills have been aiming to boost local scrap inflow as import price levels are quite high and continue to increase. Both domestic and import levels are expected to move up further, SteelOrbis understands.
