More Turkish mills announce reduced domestic scrap prices

Wednesday, 21 April 2021 16:31:08 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

As of today, April 21, more Turkish mills have reduced their domestic scrap prices, decreasing them by TRY 10-55/mt or $5-10/mt, depending on the grade. Other mills have kept their prices stable in the local currency, with their dollar prices decreasing by $3-4/mt due to the Turkish lira losing strength against the major currencies.

Despite the changes recorded, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has remained in the range of TRY 2,950-3,730/mt, while the dollar-based quotations have moved from the range of $364-460/mt to $361-456/mt. One market source stated that domestic scrap flow is currently at good levels.
