Local Turkish ship scrap prices supported by stronger import segment

Turkey’s Izmir region-based mills have again increased their local purchase prices for ship scrap, following the newly fixed rise of import scrap deal levels. As a result, local ship scrap prices have inched up by $3-5/mt over the past week to the general levels of $255-260/mt CPT, while two out of five of the local mills have preferred to wait for now but are expected to follow the same move.

In Turkey's Aliaga region the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
