Local Turkish ship scrap market records another significant rise

Some producers in Turkey’s Izmir region have raised their ship scrap purchase quotations significantly by $20/mt today, December 18, as compared to Monday, December 14, while two of them have decided to keep their quotations stable in this period. As a result, ship scrap prices have increased from levels of $388-400/mt to $388-420/mt. The main reason for this rise is the ongoing uptrend observed in the deep sea segment, which is supported by the positive sentiment in the international steel market.
