Producers in Turkey’s İzmir region have raised their ship scrap purchase quotations significantly by $10-40/mt as compared to Friday, December 18, except for Habas which has decided to keep its quotations stable in this period. As a result, ship scrap prices have increased from the levels of $388-420/mt to $420-430/mt. Ship sea scrap purchase prices in Turkey have been revised upwards to maintain scrap flow as deep sea prime grade scrap prices have been increasing for some time now and as sentiment in the global steel markets is still positive.
