Most of the key steel producers in Turkey have hiked their local scrap purchase prices due to the positive sentiment in the import scrap segment. As a result, the prices of the mills in question have mainly moved up by TRY 40-70/mt or $5-10/mt depending on the buyer and the raw material grade as compared to Friday, February 21. Only Ege Celik raised its price by just TRY 20/mt on February 24, which resulted in a $1-2/mt increase on dollar basis. Some have left their prices on Turkish lira basis unchanged, with their purchase prices on dollar basis declining by $1-2/mt.
