Today, May 7, dollar-based prices in the local Turkish scrap market have increased with the support of the appreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar. Also, some Turkish mills have raised their domestic scrap prices by TRY 25-100/mt. Accordingly, the total rise on US dollar basis has been in the range of $4-18/mt, depending on the grade.

As a result, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has moved up on the upper end from TRY 3,400-4,030/mt to TRY 3,400-4,130, while dollar-based quotations have moved up from $407-483/mt to $412-501/mt.
