Although some Turkish producers have kept their rebar prices stable on Turkish lira basis today, February 24, this decision has resulted in a $7-9/mt decrease in their dollar-based quotations amid the depreciation of the Turkish lira against major currencies. Meanwhile some Turkish mills have increased their domestic scrap prices by TRY 100-270/mt or $6-30/mt, depending on the buyer and the grade.
Accordingly, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has remained at TRY 2,650-3,245/mt, while the dollar-based quotations have decreased from the range of $375-459/mt to $368-450/mt.
