Local Turkish scrap market continues its downtrend

Wednesday, 04 August 2021 17:25:42 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Today, August 4, several Turkish mills have decreased their domestic scrap purchase prices by TRY 50-100/mt or $7-13/mt, depending on grades. With the Turkish lira weakening slightly against the US dollar, the dollar-based prices of other mills which did not change their lira-based prices have moved down by $1/mt. The current pace of domestic scrap flow is considered to be good by some players.

Today, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has moved down on the upper end from TRY 3,670-4,530/mt to TRY 3,670-4,430/mt, while the dollar-based quotations have moved from $436-539/mt to $435-526/mt.
