Latest situation in Turkish ship scrap market

The domestic ship scrap purchase quotations of Turkish steel producers, which were at $215-220/mt ex-yard last week, have increased by $15/mt on the upper end to $215-235/mt ex-yard as compared to prices on October 14, due to the ongoing rises recorded in global scrap prices. Meanwhile, demand for ship scrap in Turkey's Aliaga region - the only region in the country where ship scrapping is allowed in Turkey - has improved slightly week on week but is still at medium levels. In the coming period, no significant change in demand is expected.
