On July 13, SteelOrbis reported stable prices in the Japanese domestic H2 scrap market, trending at JPY 34,300-34,500/mt ($305-307/mt) for H2 scrap and at JPY 38,700-39,000/mt ($345-347/mt) for shindachi scrap, all prices delivered.

Sources continue informing SteelOrbis that domestic scrap prices in Japan have continued to remain rangebound on strong domestic and export support. Prices are reportedly still trending stable at JPY 34,300-34,500/mt ($304-306/mt) for H2 scrap and at JPY 38,700-39,000/mt ($343-346/mt) for shindachi scrap, all prices delivered. Due to currency fluctuations, prices declined $1/mt on H2 scrap and $1-2/mt on shindachi scrap.

The domestic market is also reportedly supported by export demand as experienced in the recent Kansai export auction.
