Import scrap prices in Turkey move up

Having concluded an deep sea deal for HMS I/II 80:20 scrap at $292-297/mt CFR in the current week, Turkish steel mills state that the new offer prices they are receiving are much higher than $300/mt CFR. Most US scrap suppliers are still not giving offers to Turkey, while the ex-US offers Turkish buyers are able to find in the market are higher than $315/mt CFR. While ex-UK scrap offers to Turkey are at $310-315/mt CFR, the most recent ex-Europe scrap sale to a Turkish buyer has been concluded at the average price level of $309.5/mt CFR.
