Graphite electrode prices in China tick up

On June 10, SteelOrbis reported that the average domestic graphite electrode price in China for HP (high-powered) 450 graphite grade was reportedly at RMB 25,000/mt ($3,608/mt) while UHP 600 was reportedly at RMB 55,000/mt ($7,937/mt), all prices ex-warehouse.

According to sources, the latest average domestic graphite electrode price in China for HP (high-powered) 450 graphite grade is now reportedly stable at RMB 25,000/mt ($3,633/mt) while UHP 600 is now reportedly at RMB 58,000/mt ($8,430/mt), all prices ex-warehouse.

The average price on HP 450 has increased by $25/mt while the UHP 600 average price has increased by $493/mt. Sources inform of higher raw material prices that may be influencing graphite electrode production costs.
