General price range narrows in local Turkish scrap market 

Over the past two weeks, some Turkish mills have cut their domestic scrap procurement prices by TRY 100-250/mt or $7-15/mt week on week. Two mills, though, have increased their prices by TRY 250-300/mt or $11-14/mt. Hence the general range of domestic scrap prices in Turkey has shrunk. Since the Turkish lira has depreciated against the US dollar from 19.37 to 19.45 this week, stable lira-based prices have been matched by a $1-2/mt cut in dollar-based prices. 

The general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap is currently at TRY 7,200-8,400/mt ($370-432/mt), from TRY 6,950-8,400/mt ($359-434/mt) last week. 

All above prices are for deliveries to customer and exclude VAT. Exchange rate fluctuations are taken into consideration when calculating the dollar-based price changes.
