Another import scrap deal has been reported in Turkey. An Iskenderun region-based steel producer has recently purchased a cargo from the Netherlands to be shipped in the first half of February. The lot includes 5,000 mt of HMS I/II 80:20 at $297/mt CFR and 20,000 mt of shredded scrap at $304.5/mt CFR, SteelOrbis has learned. As a result, the ex-EU benchmark price remains stable for now as compared to the previous transaction.

Sources expect the scrap trade to be rather lively this week with new deals to be concluded as the market is gradually reviving after the holiday period.
