Downward revisions in local Turkish scrap market continues

Monday, 23 August 2021 15:00:44 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Today, August 23, some Turkish mills have decreased their domestic scrap purchase prices by TRY 20-100/mt, depending on grades, ended in  sideways movement for some grades and $9/mt reduction for others in their dollar based quotations with the support of appreciating Turkish lira against major currencies. Other steelmakers have just kept their quotations stable, which resulted in $2-3/mt increase in their dollar-based prices.

The general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has remained at TRY 3,600-4,305/mt, while the dollar-based quotations moved from $423-505/mt to $425-508/mt.
