During the long Feast of Sacrifice holiday and today (Jul. 26), some Turkish mills have reduced their domestic scrap purchase prices. The revisions in question are TRY 75-300/mt or $8-34/mt, depending on grades. Also, the slight appreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar caused $1/mt increase on other mills’ dollar based prices.
Today, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap is still in the range of TRY 3,820-4,530/mt, while the dollar-based quotations moved from $445-527/mt to $446-529/mt.
