Transaction activity in the local Saudi Arabian scrap market is still slack due to the approaching Feast of Sacrifice holiday, while demand is weak as buyers are postponing their bookings ahead of the holiday. Due to the downward pressure on prices under these market conditions, domestic HMS I/II 80:20 scrap prices in the eastern and western regions of Saudi Arabia have decreased by SAR 100/mt ($27/mt) week on week to SAR 700-750/mt ($187-200/mt) ex-yard and SAR 600-650/mt ($160-174/mt) ex-yard, respectively.
