Another increase in local Turkish scrap market

Wednesday, 16 December 2020 16:39:53 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Following Turkisht mills’ decision to increase their domestic scrap purchase prices yesterday, December 15, a few mills have increased their prices again today. The revision is observed to be within the range of TRY 200-300/mt or $28-41/mt as compared to the levels recorded yesterday, while the dollar-based quotations of the mills that kept their prices stable have increased by $2/mt amid the appreciation of the lira against the dollar.

Accordingly, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap is now TRY 2,555-3,655/mt, increasing by TRY 200/mt on the upper end, with dollar-based quotations increasing from the range of $326-441/mt to $328-469/mt.
