Almost all Turkish mills hike local scrap quotations

Thursday, 06 May 2021 22:29:53 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Today, May 6, almost every Turkish mill has raised its domestic scrap prices, with the revisions in the range of TRY 70-200/mt or $8-24/mt, depending on the grade. Two mills have kept their prices stable in local currency, with a sideways movement in their dollar prices. As a result, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has remained stable at TRY 3,400-4,030/mt, while the dollar-based quotations are still at $407-483/mt. It is clear that the anticipated rises in the deep sea scrap segment are supporting the upward revisions in the local Turkish scrap market.
