According to market sources, no new rebar export offers from foreign suppliers to the Yemeni market have been heard since March 31, while any new Turkish rebar offers to Yemen are expected to be at $450/mt FOB on theoretical weight basis and for May shipment. Saudi Arabia has announced that the air strikes on Yemen have been completed, though it has added that the Saudi army is ready to stage a land assault on the country. Despite this, Yemeni market players have already started to make inquiries for Turkish rebar and market sources report that the initial price levels may be considered to be on the high side. However, some Turkish exporters believe that sales to the Yemeni market will be risky for a long time and that they are unwilling to conclude new transactions to this destination.
