Brazilian producers are negotiating wire rod of the mesh grade for export at $610/mt, FOB conditions, the same price now for five consecutive weeks, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.

Fresh deals currently closed include sales among associated companies, with prices not necessarily linked to market conditions, a trader source told SteelOrbis.

In May, ArcelorMittal exported 8,200 mt of wire rod at $692/mt to the US, 1,000 mt at $624/mt to South Korea, 300 mt at $593/mt to Paraguay, and 200 mt at $590/mt to Argentina, while Gerdau exported 3,500 mt to Argentina at $631/mt and 1,000 mt to Thailand at $727/mt, all FOB conditions with price deals were probably closed in March, and including different product grades.
