Weak demand in local Italian rebar market

In the local Italian market, domestic producers' rebar prices have remained stable during the past week at €335-340/mt ($379-384/mt) ex-works. In the meantime, demand is quite weak but local rebar producers are not available to give discounts and are also considering a new price increase for the local market.

Meanwhile, Brescia Chamber of Commerce has suspended its official steel price survey because of some current problems regarding the creation of a new survey board. This situation has given rise to some confusion among rebar market players since the Brescia Chamber of Commerce data have been used as the basis for some contacts, which are now invalid since the data in question is no longer available.
