After experiencing a decrease last week, US import rebar offers from Mexico are again stable this week, at $27.00-$28.00 cwt. ($595-$617/mt or $540-$560/nt) DDP Houston, although sources tell SteelOrbis that buyers could “very likely” negotiate lower.

As for import rebar offers from Turkey, prices are still stable at $27.50-$28.50 cwt. ($606-$628/mt or $550-$570/nt) DDP loaded truck at US Gulf ports, although such offers are not as vulnerable to outside deals due to higher scrap prices in Turkey and the resulting reluctance to offer rebar at lower prices.
