The steady uptrend in US import rebar offers has subsided this week, with no further upward movement in offer prices. Sources tell SteelOrbis that interest in rebar imports is showing improvement, and interest could grow even further if the current margin sustains between import offers and domestic spot prices.

For now, US import rebar offers from Turkey are unchanged week-on-week at $34.00-$35.00 cwt. ($750-$772/mt or $680-$700/nt) DDP loaded truck at US Gulf ports. Offers from Mexico are also unchanged, still ranging from $33.00-$34.00 cwt. ($728-$750/mt or $660-$680/nt) DDP Houston.
