SteelOrbis has been informed that Turkish producers' export prices for mesh quality wire rod have increased by $5/mt compared to last week and are currently in the range of $595-610/mt FOB.

According to market sources, demand for Turkish wire rod in the US market has been at decent levels and Turkish wire rod prices for the US might be revised upwards in the coming days. For now, ex-Turkey offers for the US market for mesh quality wire rod have remained unchanged compared to last week and are in the range of $630-640/mt CFR FO US Gulf ports. Additionally, market sources report that wire rod sales from Turkey to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and Europe have been concluded for small tonnages.

In June this year, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) had delayed the announcement of its final determination in the trade case against Chinese importers of carbon steel and alloy steel wire rods to the US. The final determination was postponed to August 29. Accordingly, Turkish producers are now awaiting the US DOC's announcement.
